| Howdy! Last weekend was real
busy for the Coalition. I hope everyone enjoyed Parents Weekend!
We were very successful on Friday night distributing fliers at
Midnight Yell and we would like to welcome those who have joined
us! Now to business.
The Fall Activities Council, a recently created side committee
of the Student Government Association, was recently formed by
Schuyler Houser to create an activity for the fall of 2002. Marc
and I had the pleasure of meeting with Trevor Voekal and Tyan
Cathey who held an open Forum on April 3, 2002 to discuss the idea
submission format. Thank you to all of you who visited the website
( http://FAC.tamu.edu)
and helped us lobby for Old Army Bonfire. THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN
HELP!!
---> The next open forum will be this Wednesday,
April 17th, in the Quiet Room in Sbisa from 5:30 to 6:30 and in
Duncan Dining Center from 6:45 to 7:45. This forum is for feedback
so we encourage you to come and speak out! They will be presenting
the top ideas that were submitted to the council and they want to
hear what you think.
On Thursday the Bonfire Coalition will be hosting a BBQ in
Spence Park. We will light the pit at 5 p.m. so come out and meet
the Board and enjoy some free food! (It will go fast so bring your
friends and get there early!)
On Sunday we will be having a car wash at the Long John
Silver’s on Texas! We will start at 11a.m. and go till 5
p.m.. We would love for you to help, but if you already have plans
for your Muster afternoon at least come by and say Howdy and get
your car washed. Donations will be accepted. Please see our
website for more information regarding tax deductible donations.
Now for our Committee updates!
The Campus Outreach will not be holding a meeting this week,
but we are looking forward to seeing our committee members at the
BBQ on Thursday and the car wash on Sunday. Thank you to
those of you who helped pass out fliers last Friday. If you have
any questions about upcoming events, contact Scott and Brad at
CampusOutreach@hotmail.com.

We have many Former Students wanting to know more about the
Bonfire Coalition and our goal: to get Fighting Texas Aggie
Bonfire burning again, but we need your help. The Former Students
Committee is not only for Texas A&M Former Students. Our committee
encompasses current students, both undergraduates and graduates,
former students, and regular people wanting to help in seeing
Bonfire burn again. The Former Students Committee is seeking
CURRENT TEXAS A&M STUDENTS, both undergraduate and graduate, to
aid both former students and the Former Student co-chairs in
promoting Bonfire. ALL undergraduate students are strongly
encouraged to join the Former Students Committee because we are
here in Aggieland and hear the news first. This way we can reach
out to our former students and let them know what is happening at
our beloved University. Anyone who wishes to join the Former
Student Committee can email us at Coalition_FormerStudents@
yahoo.com I encourage all students to join our committee, both
current and former.
