The meeting began at 8:00 pm with introductions from all
board members.
It was then decided that letters would be sent to the families
of the victims of the 1999 Bonfire collapse. These letters are
meant to explain the intentions and mission of the Bonfire
Coalition.
Next, the logo for the Bonfire Coalition was discussed. It was
opened to the board to design a logo to be seen on shirts,
letterheads, etc.
It was announced that bonfirecoalition.com, bonfirecoalition.net
and bonfirecoalition.org are all owned by the Bonfire Coalition
for our uses alone.
Fundraising was then discussed. The author of I Bleed Maroon
has offered to be a potential partner in a fundraiser. David
Rushing is working on establishing tax- free status for donators
to the Coalition.
It was decided that the Bonfire Coalition will have no
attachment to any off campus Bonfire in the future. The
Coalition will not condemn or support any off campus Bonfire.
At current, the designated spokesperson of the Coalition is
co-chair Marc Barringer.
The Constitution was presented to the board and modifications
were considered. Changes were made to Article II, Section 1 and
Article III. The entire Constitution will be available upon it’s
completion.
There was a discussion over the voting status of the webmaster.
With unanimous vote of 12-0, it was decided that the webmaster
will be included as a member of the board but will not have a
vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 pm and it was decided that on
Wednesday, March 6 the board will meet again to continue work on
the Constitution.
